Adidas Pro Model Shoes

Seen here in a distinctive monochrome colourway that is notorious for the Superstar, the adidas Pro Model draws inspiration from the iconic basketball shoe but adapts it to better suit skateboarding with a raised ankle and comfort focused features. The uppers are made from smooth white leather with core black decorative side stripes and perforation in between. A signature feature of the Superstar, the shell-like toe cap remains and adds a high level of durability to a key stress point as well as helping to protect the foot. Adorned with gold metallic adidas trefoil branding, the leather tongue wraps around the foot and is held in place by a long lace fastening. Additional gold ‘Pro Model’ lettering can be seen on the outer edge of the foot as well as on the back of the heel against a core black insert. The ankle collar is padded for comfort and a fabric lining runs throughout. Underfoot the white outsole widens slightly at the heel and a herringbone tread pattern supplies a high level of grip for wear across a variety of terrains.

Made famous by ‘80s hip hop duo Run DMC, the adidas Superstar is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and no doubt there are going to be some special releases designed in its memory. Directly impacting this new Pro Model, the Superstar is recognisable for its shell toe cap and classic aesthetic which is enhanced by a simplistic colour palette and premium materials.
